Five Places to Celebrate Fat Tuesday

Mardi Gras is always the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. The name means fat Tuesday in French and, here in the states, the day is most widely celebrated in New Orleans. Although that city is roughly 1,300 miles to the south, there are plenty of places around town to channel the Crescent City's spirit. Just Dropped in to See What Condition Red Hook's Condition Was In

Red Hook was one of the neighborhoods in New York to get hit hardest by Hurricane Sandy. Manhattan south of 39th Street received power at the end of last week; some Friday, most Saturday. In Red Hook, many areas are still without. We spent the afternoon criss-crossing Red Hook's streets to see what condition the seaside neighborhood is in.
